Roger Goodell: “NFL Fans Should Be More Understanding Of Protests During National Anthem” (Video)

Roger Goodell says NFL fans should be more understanding of protests during national anthem… How do you feel about political grandstanding during a sporting event?

Dear NFL, Due to the actions of a few of your players disrespecting our National Anthem and then Commissioner Roger Goodell’s condoning their gross disrespect, we will continue on with our boycott of your organization. It’s your league if you want to allow a few knuckleheads to ruin what you’ve spent decades building that’s your call.

NYDN: NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says football fans should be more understanding when players protest the national anthem.

During a Q&A session with Cardinals season-ticket holders, Goodell was asked if he believes protests are “going to be another problem” this season.

This past weekend, Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch and Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett both sat down while the national anthem was played before their preseason games.

“It’s one of those things where we have to understand that there are people who have different viewpoints,” Goodell said via ESPN. “It’s something that I think everybody wants. The national anthem is a special moment for me. It’s a point of pride. That is a really important moment but we also have to understand the other side – that people do have rights, and we want to respect those.” More

I’m fine with people having different viewpoints. But if you live in America and enjoy the benefits of being an American, you need to respect our flag and stand for the national anthem.
