Gov. Jindal Speaks From Lafayette ➠ ‘Hug These Families, Shower Them With Love’
Governor Bobby Jindal arrived on scene near the Grand Theater in Lafayette, Louisiana late Thursday evening to offer support, and participated in the press conference with law enforcement regarding the evening’s deadly and tragic shooting.
“What we can do now is we can pray,’ he said. “We can hug these families we can shower them with love, thoughts, and prayers.”
Law enforcement confirmed that they have the identity of the shooter but are not releasing it. They did describe him as a white male in his 50s who was known to other patrons, and who was in the theater for the 7 pm showing of “Trainwreck”.
“The great thing about America is that when any of us suffers, whether it’s one family or one community, we all suffer,” said Governor Jindal. “This is a time for us to come together.”
“There are families that are mourning the loss of loved ones tonight,. There are other families that are in hospitals right now hoping their loved ones are going to make full recoveries. The best thing anybody can do is think about them, pray for them, shower them with your love. That is the most important thing. We will get through this. We are a unified community,” he said. More
