Megyn: Obama Needs to Get Off High Horse About ‘Less-Than-Loving’ Christians

Radio host Richard Fowler weighed in on “The Kelly File” tonight about President Barack Obama suggesting that he’s concerned by “less-than-loving” Christians.

“On Easter, I do reflect on the fact that, as a Christian, I am supposed to love, and I have to say that sometimes when I listen to less-than-loving expressions by Christians, I get concerned, but that’s a topic for another day,” Obama said at the White House Easter Prayer Breakfast today.

Megyn Kelly asked Fowler if he thought Obama was sending the wrong message by bashing Christians.

“Here’s the thing, and I think of the holiday of Easter and we’re celebrating the resurrection of Christ,” Fowler said. “…I think there’s a point to be made here…treat your neighbor as you would like to be treated. I think that is what the president is trying to espouse and I think he’s right.”

Kelly and Fowler both agreed that Obama was referring to Indiana’s religious freedom law in his speech. She then questioned why the president lectured the audience on “being tolerant and not offering less-than-loving expressions and how concerned he gets when he himself was doing that all the way through 2012.”

Fowler countered back and said that the president has evolved over time. He added that everyone has the ability to change their view points.

But Kelly cut him off, stating that maybe Obama “shouldn’t be up on the high horse, when he was just like on the lower horse a couple of years ago.”

Fowler said he agreed, but fired back with explaining that the Bible states to “love your neighbors as you would like to be loved.” He said that it shouldn’t matter if the person is black, white, gay, lesbian or transgendered.

“The Indiana law in itself has a lot of discrimination in it,” he said. “If you believe in love, you should not believe in discrimination by any stretch or means of the imagination.”
