Police say seven adults and three children were wounded in a shooting that involved a shotgun at a party Saturday night in the Mantua section of the city.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. at Palm and Ogden streets, where a block picnic was apparently being held.
The injured were rushed to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia or Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. All were initially reported to be in critical condition, but most have since been upgraded to stable.
The youngest victim, an 18-month-old girl, was said to suffer a gunshot graze wound to the left side of her neck and was taken to CHOP by police. An 11-year-old girl was grazed in the left knee and right shoulder and was transported by private vehicle. A 13-year-old boy was struck in the chest and taken by ambulance. All three were later said to be in stable condition.
No condition was available late Saturday night for a 26-year-old male who was shot multiple times. But a 46-year-old struck once in the right leg, a 26-year-old hit once in the left side and a 22-year-old with a right arm wound were later reported to be in stable condition.
According to police, at least one shooter turned the corner and open fire. It wasn’t immediately clear whether the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle. More
