People are coming out of stores to watch. Commuters at bus stops are taking pictures with their phones and some drivers are honking their horns to the rhythm of the chants.
Marchers were escorted by police officers on motorcycles who kept intersections clear.
The Baltimore Police Department said it would honor the protesters’ constitutional rights to protest while listening to the concerns of other citizens, according to a tweet.
However, protesters continue to flood the streets at the height of the evening rush hour.
The protesters continue to walk in the downtown area. The group is walking in the street causing traffic delays. #PeacefulProtest
