A man suspected of killing four people in Kansas and a fifth person in neighboring Missouri was arrested early on Wednesday after a day-long manhunt, Missouri State Police said.

Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino – who police had described as dangerous and possibly armed with an AK-47 – was detained in eastern Missouri near Interstate 70, a major east-west highway, authorities said.

The 40-year-old was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shootings of four men at a home in Kansas City, Wyandotte County officials said.

Serrano-Vitorino, a Mexican national according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is then suspected of fatally shooting a man in eastern Missouri about 170 miles away, according to police. More

And yes, he was a previously deported illegal alien:

KANSAS CITY, KS U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says a man who was the focus of a Missouri manhunt after five fatal shootings is a Mexican national who was in the country illegally.

The murder of four people in Kansas City, KS, and another in Montgomery County, MO, means four families are living through a nightmare full of questions and broken hearts.

“He was a great man, he loved his children, he would help anybody out in a time of need,” said Megan Capps, Michael Capps’ sister.

The agency said in a statement Tuesday night that Pablo Antonio Serrano-Vitorino had been previously deported from the U.S. in April 2004. ICE says he illegally re-entered the country on an unknown date.
