Woman High on Bath Salts Stabs ‘Demon-Possessed’ Dog

A woman in Maine was high on bath salts and stabbed a dog she claimed was possessed by a demon, according to authorities. Deputies responded to a 911 call on Easter morning where they found the woman’s family trying to restrain her.

Ashley Doody, 30, was at a neighbor’s Perham home for Easter Sunday when she allegedly attacked the poor pooch — claiming the pet was “demon possessed” — and then threatened to harm herself with the same knife, the Bangor Daily News reported.

The poor dog named Trixie suffered serious injuries and lost a large amount of blood, the Aroostook County Sheriff said. The dog is expected to make a full recovery.

Doody, whose Facebook profile depicts her as a mother to young children, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals — a class C felony.

Bail was set at $1,000. Animal welfare agencies were notified of the incident to make sure that Doody does not have access to animals.
