BOOM ➠ Judge Makes Feds’ Lives MISERABLE For Ignoring His Ruling On Obama’s Amnesty
For federal immigration authorities, the “rubber just met the road” when it comes to enforcing a new immigration law deadline.
Federal Judge Andrew S. Hanen of Texas issued a court order on Wednesday forcing federal immigration authorities to collect three-year amnesty approvals issued to illegal immigrants by the Obama Administration in violation of his order. Immigration officials will have to go door-to-door to retrieve the approvals.
The National Immigrant Justice Center issued a statement to recipients of the permits to prepare them for “what could be a traumatic encounter” with immigration officials.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services stated that these home visits will only add to the anxiety and confusion already felt by illegal immigrants as they await a federal decision on Obama’s amnesty plan.
Judge Hanen issued the court order in response to the Obama Administration ignoring the February 16 injunction that barred the government from proceeding with Obama’s amnesty.
If immigrants do not return their permits by the end of July, the permits will be terminated. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson may then be forced to appear in court at an August 19 hearing to explain why the Feb 16 court order was ignored and why all the permits were not collected.
“The government has conceded that it has directly violated this court’s order in its May 7, 2015 advisory,” Judge Hanen stated. More
