Suspect Shot In Union Square, NYC ➠ After He Attempted To Hit A Police Officer With A Hammer
Jon Scott updated us this morning on a breaking story out of New York City, where a hammer-wielding man was shot by police.
Authorities say the man had a hammer and was struck by multiple bullets this morning. He was wounded and is in stable condition, AP reports.
The incident occurred in midtown Manhattan near the area of Penn Station and Madison Square Garden.
When a female officer approached the man, he lunged at her with the hammer and she fell down, police commissioner Bill Bratton said.
Her partner then opened fire, wounding the suspect in the street. More
The suspect is thought to be the man who attacked as many as four other people (all of them women) in New York City’s Union Square earlier in the week.
