Charles Krauthammer Blasts President Obama on Iran Nuclear Talks

On “Special Report” tonight, Charles Krauthammer sounded off on comments that President Obama made toward the Israeli people regarding the nuclear negotiations with Iran.

“To the Israeli people: I understand your concerns and I understand your fears,” Obama said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 2 television. “But what is the worst scenario is the path that we’re currently on, in which there’s no nuclear resolution and, ultimately, we have no way to verify whether Iran has a weapon or not.”

“Sanctions won’t do it. A military solution is temporary. The deal that we’re negotiating potentially takes a nuclear weapon off the table for 20 years.”

Krauthammer called Obama’s remarks “ridiculous” and stated that even if there’s no cheating on Iran’s part, we will legitimize a bomb in a much shorter timeframe.

“But the assumption of no cheating is so naive as to be incomprehensible,” Krauthammer said, noting that Iran has already been cheating with enrichment and exceeding oil export caps.

“All of this has been happening with sanctions and under restrictions. Imagine how Iran is going to act after sanctions are lifted, after the agreement is signed, when it has zero incentive to refrain from cheating. And we know it will.”
