Huckabee ➠ ‘This Is The Kind Of Evil That Needs To Be Called Out For What It Is’
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said on “Fox and Friends Weekend” to weigh in on several topics, including the terrible slaughter of dozens of people at a Kenyan university, Indiana and Arkansas controversial religious freedom bills and the 2016 election.
Huckabee said that President Obama’s reaction to the anti-Christian massacre in Kenya was good in that he specifically mentioned “terrorism.” But Obama failed to say “radical Islam” or that the attacks were targeted against Christians, Huckabee pointed out.
“He never wants to bring religion into it. And the fact is these often, and most often, are religiously motivated murders where one religion has targeted another and is slaughtering people in the most savage of ways: burning people alive, cutting the heads off of children, with Boko Haram having done that proudly and bragging about it,” Huckabee said.
“This is the kind of evil that needs to be called out for what it is.”
Huckabee also shared his thoughts on the recent backlash to Indiana and Arkansas’ controversial religious freedom laws. He said Christians don’t hate anyone and they are not out to get anyone. They aren’t going to shut someone’s business down or make it where people can’t make a living because they disagree. “Yet, that’s what Christians are facing,” Huckabee asserted. “They’re going to have a hard time making a living because they are being attacked and targeted. And whether it’s economic, which is certainly milder than the physical type of violence, but the kind of economic targeting that we are seeing in the United States is very disturbing and is very unlike what America is supposed to be.” Huckabee also weighed in on Ted Cruz, who was not only the first major candidate to declare for the 2016 presidential race, but was also the first to release a campaign ad. “I think it’s a good ad. Again, any ad that you can run that causes people to talk about it and air it for free? Eight years ago when we did an ad with Chuck Norris, the ad was Chuck Norris approved. It was a tongue-in-cheek, fun ad. We only spent $10,000 airing the ad, we got by all accounts almost $50 million worth of free air play on every network and online because that ad went viral.”
