PC: A regular American mom used her cell phone to capture a terrifying protest at a local Chik-Fil-A in Pinellas Park, Florida. Participating in promotional “Cow Appreciation Day“, local Chick-fil-A restaurants provided free food to patrons who came in on July 11th dressed in “cowlike” attire.
As reported by local Fox News 13, Direct Action Everywhere (“DxE”) activists stormed the fast food restaurant wearing bloody clothing and carrying a large knife. Pretending to be animals, some crawled in on hands and knees wearing the heads of a cow and a chicken. They wore blue shirts bearing the slogan “Animal Liberation Now.”
As young children watched, these militant vegans staged a dramatic, violent show to “show the reality of …what’s happening to these animals”. Using a fake bloody knife to “slaughter” the animals, activists pretended to slit the throats of two actors wearing the head of a cow and a chicken. The activist actors then dropped to the ground and played dead, blocking access and forcing customers to walk around them. More
Tina Leacock and some of her friends brought their children to the restaurant, located in the Shoppes at Park Place in Pinellas Park, just before noon.
“Altogether, we had 19 kids with us, ranging from the age from 18 months to 9 years old,” said Leacock.
Shortly after putting most of the children in the play area, Leacock said she saw protesters storm through the door shouting. She recorded video on her cell phone as customers looked on baffled.
“What you didn’t see on the video was when they first walked in, they actually slit the throats of the chicken and the person dressed up as a cow, and then they fell down to the ground,” said Leacock.
One of the protesters held a fake bloody knife. They chanted, “It’s not food, it’s violence.” Customers chanted back, telling them to “Get out.” More
