‘I Was Just Praying to My God’: Teen Survivor of Kenya College Massacre Speaks Out

A 19-year-old survivor has been found following Islamic extremists’ slaughter of 148 people at Garissa University College in Kenya.

Officials say Cynthia Cheroitich hid in a crawl space above a closet covered in clothes for two days, refusing to emerge because she feared the attackers were still present.

She was discovered by forensic police officers who were scouring the college after Thursday’s killing spree.

Cheroitich reportedly became so thirsty while hiding that she drank lotion to stay alive.

“I was just praying to my God, saying that if it has come to my day, it has reached. But if it not yet, let God decide whatever he likes,” Cheroitich said.

John Huddy reported on “America’s News Headquarters” that Cheroitich remained hidden even as al-Shabab militants demanded that students come out of hiding.

Huddy revealed that those who could not recite Muslim prayers and those who were attending a Christian service on campus were specifically targeted by the gunmen.

Huddy noted that five people have been arrested in connection with the attack, to go along with four others who had already been killed.

Huddy reported that al-Shabab said in a statement that “Kenyan cities will run red with blood,” vowing more attacks.
